So I bought the queen of pop’s newest album this weekend, appropriately named Hard Candy. My mum says she’s hard…and tacky. Ouch. My mum’s words, people not mine. Though the cover of this newest album is a bit provocative and could be suggested as tacky…
This album is Madonna’s eleventh and FINAL album for Warner Bros. Interesting combo of collaborations going on in this album, from Timbaland, to JT, Danja and Pharrell. Hopefully you have heard her first single, “Four Minutes” featuring Justin Timberlake and Timbaland. Really groovy song. At first I was like, hmmm strange combo of artists, but after listening it for a few more times it grew on me.
Some of the songs on this album can get a bit irritating. It’s a dance album, all bouncy energetic songs with strange tempos and beats. I like most of the songs, though there is one particular one that I cannot stand because of the background instrumentals. “Incredible”. Watch out for that one….
On to the highlights of the album (singles you should download….legally of course..) :
“Beat Goes On” featuring Kanye West. Hello, these two sound so good together. What a dance song.
“Dance 2night” Awesome song. JT’s vocals were lent here.
I love love looove “Voices”. It’s the last song on this album and it was an incredible end. It’s got such an eerie sound to it, seriously if there were one song you listened to, I recommend this one.
I dunno if you’ve seen the music video but wooow, this queen must work out 24/7. Did you see that bod? Madonna’s 49 years old, and turning the big 5 - 0 this year in August. She’s one fit diva !
Anyways time for me to go and study…enough procrastinating on my part. Love blogging though. For cinnamuf, John Mayer is coming. I just had to blog about Madonna first though, seeing as I bought her CD this weekend.
