Rock On - Music

Hi.

Something new here guys. I am doing an analytical study on the song ‘We Made It’, inspired by someone I know, (shoutout to Amanze haha.)

But first I’m putting up the lyrics for you all to read then I’m going to post in a few days my thoughts on the song. Feel free to put your thoughts in the comment part on this song if you want. If I agree/disagree I will cite you in my post on my thoughts of the song.

Peeeace.

LD.

And without further ado…..:

[Busta Rhymes:]
See it niggas I survived the worst but my life is glorious
But I know that I live to be hurdled and i’m so victorious
Take a look I’m a symbol of greatness now call it Morpheus
As force accumalted the wind and but a believe I’m so notorious
Didn’t know I’ve been buying my bread even though we rapping now (yes)
And now when you look on my trip and you a nigga higher level tramping now
And you see that everyone on my middle struggers and
For your ass is never been an option
A nigga paper long like we was on the trap and the hood choppin
Get it!

[Chorus: Chester Bennington] (Busta Rhymes) *Mike Shinoda*
Together we made it (you see we did it niggas)
We made it even though we had our backs up against the wall (c’mon)
Forever we waited (haha!)
And they told us we were never going to get it
But we took it on the road (through the riches)
On the road (through the ghetto)
On the roooooad (and the projects to this bangin instrumental)
On the road (ride with me) *yeah, yeah*
On the road (you come and get it) *yeah, yeah*
On the roooooooad *yeah, yeah, yeah, yo!*

[Mike Shinoda:]
When it all got started we was steadily just getting rejected
And it seemed like nothing we could do would ever get us respected
And thus we was stressed and the worst they probably said was we’re pathetic
Had all the pieces to that puzzle just a way to get connected
And I was fighting through every ryhme tighting up every line
Never resting the question and I was out of my mind
And it finally came time to do it or let it die

So put the chips on the table and told me to let it ride
Sing it!

[Chorus: Chester Bennington] (Busta Rhymes)
Together we made it (you see we did it niggas)
We made it even though we had our backs up against the wall (c’mon)
Forever we waited (haha!)
And they told us we were never going to get it
But we took it on the road (through the riches)
On the road (through the ghetto)
On the roooooad (and the projects to this bangin instrumental)
On the road (ride with me)
On the road (you come and get it)
On the roooooooad

[Busta Rhymes:]
Look in case you misunderstanded exactly what I’m building
Shit that I could live for my children (children) children (children)
Now I only wake up I smile to see how far I’ve come
Fighting for sales on a strip to get hustle from
From nights in jail on a bench using my muscles son
To count money like Dre, Jimmy and Russell Ones
But now I live when I dream you see me finally getting it
Let’s make a toast to the hustle regardless how we get it
Singing

[Chorus: Chester Bennington] (Busta Rhymes)
Together we made it (you see we did it niggas)
We made it even though we had our backs up against the wall (c’mon)
Forever we waited (haha!)
And they told us we were never going to get it
But we took it on the road (through the riches)
On the road (through the ghetto)
On the roooooad (and the projects to this bangin instrumental)
On the road (ride with me)
On the road (you come and get it)
On the roooooooad

Hard Question … ????

posted by laura d.

What’s/Whose your favorite band/artist/music?

How in the world can we possibly answer that question? I mean it’s so specific and there are just SO many bands/artists/music that are my favorites, not just one.

Do you really believe that there are people out there who just solely listen to one style of music? I mean we are multifaceted, us human beings. We change as we grow older and develop different interests. Do you believe that we also change tastes in music?

So, now the question for you all is,

 WHAT’S/WHOSE YOUR FAVORITE BAND/ARTIST/MUSIC?

Haha.

Peace.

side-effects of music

posted by annagoforth

Music…. Music has turned into much more than just a couple of beats or catchy tune. Today there are hundreds of genres and thousands of people creating them. We all have our favorite style that we think defeats the others, but when you think about it they are all just sounds; some more appealing then other. Though we don’t realize how much that little song blasting through our ipod speakers really effects us. In our minds it is simply a good sound with a cool beat, but we seem to have turned it into so much more. When we decide we like a style of music we find out the artist who made that great tune. We think there music is cool so automatically, we think they are cool. And when you think someone is cool you mimic them. The kids who love punk rock are usually dressed in black with lots of eyeliner on their face because it is what punk rock artist wear. The same goes for kids who love rap, they see their favorite artist with long, gold chains around their necks. So what do they do? Mimic them; what else? So we have determined our music effects our style but what about friends. You notice we usually make friends that have common interest with us. That is why you commonly see the kids in all black sitting together; same with the kids in all the bling. The music they listen to effetheir friend. Our music can effect our scts there style, which will effect there personality, which will then effect who they choose to be friends with. It effects our social life so much, which can effect our future. Is this a bad thing? Not necessarily. As long as we are okay with who we have become and realize how it will effect our future. So what is my favorite genre? Light, acoustic with a little folk. I normally wear cool, comfy beach style clothes and my favorite sandals. I know i am such a stereotype but that is cool with me.

New Tunes…?!

posted by laura d.

Haha, yes that’s right, title explains all.

For a little experiment as the primary blogger for Music, I deleted all my original favorite tunes on my iPod and placed all oldies that my Mum liked and some tunes that people on this blog recommended and also tunes my friends at school have recommended. Very interesting tunes, lots of different and completely random groups but it was a fun experience. I definitely suggest doing this sometime if you really love music. It allows you to broaden your horizons on music and appreciate different styles.

This blog will be a short blog. I have exams next week …but I won’t forget my blog site. Thanks to all who left all the comments on my last blog! It was very very exciting. I can see that my rap listening offended some people because they wanted more variety. This is why I did this exercise. So I could try out new tunes.

So basically I’m going to give you a brief short list of some of the songs that got added on my newly cleaned iPod.

NEW TUNES

*Smells Like Teen Spirit : Nirvana (Band’s a personal favorite of my sister’s. I decided to give them a try. They’re really quite brilliant.)

*Lovefool : The Cardigans (Classic song. I’ve listened to it before and so I decided to add them on again. Fun song.)

*Erase Rewind : The Cardigans (Really good song! I like this one the best out of the two I have here.)

*Heart Shaped Box : Nirvana. (Very haunting. Very cool.)

*To the Moon and Back : Savage Garden (Wow…this song really transported my back to my childhood for a brief few minutes when I listened to this song. My mum really liked and still likes this band.)

*Roulette Dares (This is the Haunt) : The Mars Volta (This group was recommended by a commenter on my blog. And I liked this group. Very groovy song and I really love the lead singer’s haunting voice.)

*Tired of Being Sorry : Enrique Iglesias f. Nadiya (Wow if you bought Enrique’s recent cd, Insomniac then you will want to hear this version of Tired of Being Sorry. Such a good song, especially with French singer Nadiya.)

Okay well there’s the end. I really liked the new songs I had put on. Some of them weren’t to my liking like some of David Bowie’s songs and The Beatles. I like fast paced music. I get really ancy when a song takes too long to get into a chorus or something. Dunno, guess I’m impatient like that haha. Sometimes if it’s a really good song, like Come My Way by Skillet, then I don’t mind if it takes awhile because I like the song.

Anyways peace and don’t forget to leave me some songs to listen to please!!!
